Bridal Invitations - Your Etiquette Questions Answered

When you are picking out your bridal invitations and making for certain that all the wording is correct, you want to make sure that you use special etiquette for your invitations. However, if the children live elsewhere or are over the age of 18, make sure to send them their own invitation.

Question #2 - When Should I Mail Invitations? - Wondering when you should mail out your unique invitations? Well, usually it is customary to make sure that you mail out the invitations about 6-8 weeks before the wedding is to take place. This way people have plenty of time to set aside the date and they also have time to respond to you in advance. However, if your wedding is around a holiday, consider mailing them out a couple weeks ahead of time.

Question #3 - How Can I let Guests Know the Reception is Formal? - If you want to let all the guests know that the wedding reception is going to be formal, then you will perhaps want to include the phrase "Black Tie" or "formal" in your invitation. Usually though, most people understand that a wedding that occurs after 6pm is going to be a more formal affair.

Question #4 - How Do I Address the Inside Envelope? - Last of all, there can be some confusion as to how you want to address the inside envelope, especially for close family members. Even if you are having a formal wedding, it is perfectly fine to address family as family, such as Grandma, Aunt Sally, or Mom.
